Our Mission: In an atmosphere of open dialogue and diverse theoretical perspectives, our mission is to increase professional and clinical expertise in our participants’ ability to help patients negotiate conflicts and emotional obstacles in self and relationship. 

The Vermont Association for Psychoanalytic Studies is a local chapter of Division 39 of the American Psychological Association. Division 39, called the Division of Psychoanalysis, was formed by the APA specifically to represent within the broad field of psychology, professionals who identify themselves as having a major commitment to the study, practice and development of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. 


The international membership of the Society for Research in Adult Development (SRAD) includes people from all disciplines who are interested in positive adult development. Positive adult development refers to development starting in late adolescence and continuing through life. The focus is on expanded capabilities and changes that improve the quality of life.

The National Training Program in Contemporary Psychoanalysis (NTP) of the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP) is a comprehensive postgraduate psychoanalytic certificate program designed for qualified mental health practitioners throughout the United States and around the world.
